Food Matches
Versatile in pairing, Lacrima expresses itself excellently both in its young version and after a period of ageing.
Its structure makes it perfect for enhancing Marche cold cuts, supporting tomato-based first courses and accompanying red meats, but also medium-intensity white meats.
Particularly successful are unconventional pairings with elaborate seafood dishes such as marinated appetisers and the traditional Ancona-style fish soup, where the wine’s notes enhance the richness of the dish.
Features
Since 1985, Lacrima di Morro d’Alba D.O.C. has represented the viticultural excellence of a limited but idealised territory: six municipalities in the province of Ancona where Mediterranean soil and climate conditions and hilly terrain create an ideal microenvironment.
At the heart of this appellation, Morro d’Alba holds the secret of a native grape variety with unique characteristics.
The peculiarity that inspired the name manifests itself during the ripening phase, when the skin of the grape naturally tears, allowing the must to escape in characteristic ‘tears’.
Sensory Notes
A wine with a well-defined character, it has a beautiful intense ruby red colour, enhanced by violet reflections that emphasise its youth and liveliness.
The bouquet is complex, with well-integrated fruity notes and floral hints, creating a persistent and harmonious bouquet. On the palate, it confirms its typical characteristics: dry yet smooth structure, with a balanced body of medium intensity.
The aftertaste is particularly distinctive, with strong hints of violet, a distinctive element that gives Lacrima its unmistakable varietal personality.
